A senior at Mountain Pointe, this is Jasmyn’s third year in journalism, and second year as co-Editor. She enjoys writing about sports, watching sports and playing volleyball for the Mountain Pointe Pride. She spends a lot of time with her family and friends and enjoys eating tacos. She hopes of becoming a sports analyst on ESPN, and she plans to attend NAU next fall majoring in journalism.

This is Alicia’s second year as an editor and third year in Journalism, even though Patti Duncan thinks that is is her fourth year. If Patti Duncan says that it is four years, then it is, no matter what evidence says otherwise. When not avoiding writing stories, Alicia enjoys trolling the internet, and boosting her self-esteem at Zumba with old people. She is a travel addict and hoards passport stamps like they are gold. Alicia likes to obsess over various t.v shows and comic books, and then discuss them with Isabela Silva. In the future, Alicia hopes to travel the world and marry her idol/hero/future husband Anderson Cooper. In conclusion, she’s pretty cool.

Jay is going into her third year of Journalism; this will be her second year as an editor of the printed newspaper. She enjoys writing and reading more than most things, she rather be sleeping that doing her homework, and she is a huge T-Swift fan. Journalism consumes most her time and gives her the type of stress she can actually enjoy. This will be her second paper writing for and enjoys making pages.
Not only does she love her cat and puppy more than anything, but likes spending as much time as she can with her friends. Her favorite foods are Japanese and Mexican, her favorite color is black and she hopes to one day be a fashion designer.

Isabela Silva is the average teenage blogger: pale, antisocial, and absolutely hilarious. When she’s not in school, she is on the internet, skeezing on her husband (the illustrious Benedict Cumberbatch), Tweeting, Tumbling, blogging, and generally avoiding real work. She spends her time doing artsy-hipster things like drawing people, writing fanfictions and poetry, and pretending she can sing. Her cats seem to be the only ones who understand her, except for her best friend, Nina “Dancing Queen” Paz. Despite the affected appearance that she is standoffish and unfriendly, Isabela is actually a warm, and humorous person, who is enjoys puppies and long walks on the beach. She has come to terms with the fact that she will be forever alone. Cheers!

Morgan Dick is a junior at MP and loving life. This is her second year writing for Voice of the Pride, and her first year being an editor. Aside from writing, she loves swimming for the MPHS Swim Team and participating in other clubs and activities around Tukee. She is also an active member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Student Council. Outside of school, Dick can be seen hanging out with friends or working at the YMCA! She has also been spotted swimming like a fish for Sun Devil Aquatics swim team, and crusin’ around in her new car! After high school, Dick plans to attend either ASU or Pepperdine and receive a degree in medicine.

A junior here at Mountain Pointe, Kate is a competitive horseback rider; she shows in the hunter/jumpers and equitation in the “A” rated show circuit. When not at the barn, you can find her at Starbucks enjoying an iced green tea, sweetened or on a hunky boy-scouting mission with the rest of the JKHL. And if you have to ask why she’s such a sarcastic person… she can’t help you.

His full name is Andrew Brian Nicla, and is a 15 year old sophomore. He is very involved in his community, and here at Mountain Pointe High School. Whether that is helping at the local homeless shelter, participating in sports at school, or helping run his church’s youth group. He is a very kind, honest, and sarcastic young fellow. If anything is happening in the world of sports, he’s the guy that knows everything; this comes from my obsession with almost every sports channel in existence. His favorite football team is the Green Bay Packers; when it comes to baseball and basketball he roots for the home team! (Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Phoenix Suns).
Like he said, he is a very straightforward person, very approachable, and you can ask him just about anything. He loves going to games and writing reviews for his podcast “Off the Turf”. If you don’t know what to call him just call him Andrew!

Secret: I have a huge obsession with Big Time Rush.
Her full name is Jenny Rebecca Eldard; she was named after a Barbra Streisand song. She was born in Santa Monica, California; but grew up in Tigard, Oregon. She moved to Arizona when she was nine-years-old and has been living here ever since. She is a junior and has attended Mountain Pointe all three years of high school. At school she is involved in GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions.) At home she plays the drums and skateboards.
She is a huge nerd and tends to obsess over comic books, music, television, and movies. Her favorite bands are probably Weezer and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but she loves boy bands and just 90’s music in general. She also loves TV shows, but her all time favorites are probably Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Veronica Mars. She is also a huge movie fan, and has a huge collection of both TV series and movies on DVD to prove it. This is her first year of journalism, but she is really looking forward to the class!
